Plan to Empower Female Breadwinners

The comprehensive plan to empower female breadwinners has been presented to the Social Council at the Interior Ministry for review and ratification. “The results of the plan’s trial run were compiled and the draft is now awaiting the council’s review,” said Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi on Thursday, ISNA reported. The scheme is modeled after a major successful project last year concerning female heads of household dubbed the ‘Rey County Pilot Plan’, which was an effort to develop peer networking and synergy among all executive bodies to empower female breadwinners. It provided for multilateral cooperation to help women heads of households through early support towards employment and entrepreneurship. The model project is in the making to be executed at the national level. “Once the plan has been thoroughly assessed by the respective workgroup and ratified by the council, it will be implemented nationwide,” Molaverdi said.
