A joint pharmaceutical production line was inaugurated in Algiers by the Iranian and Algerian health ministers during Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi’s recent visit to Algeria. A collaboration between Frater-Razes Laboratories Group in Algiers and Tehran’s Pooyesh Darou Pharmaceuticals, the line will produce biopharmaceuticals and recombinant drugs. “Our aim is to improve joint cooperation with Algeria which is one of the most important countries in the region and the African continent,” said Hashemi at the signing ceremony of four memoranda of understanding on health cooperation between the two countries on Friday. Iran also pledged to transfer the knowhow for production of the recombinant drug ‘Filgrastim’, a cancer medication, Mehr News Agency reported. “The signing of the landmark nuclear deal provides an opportunity to expand joint collaboration between our private sectors in the fields of health, industry, agriculture, academia and research,” Hashemi said.
