The memoranda of understanding signed between Iran and Cuba during Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi’s visit to Havana last week will be put into action through joint specialized commissions. “Cooperation in healthcare with Cuba would be beneficial to both sides, since Cuba is one of the countries that have made great advancements in the field of healthcare,” Hashemi said on his return to Tehran, ILNA reported. The MoUs are in areas such as joint vaccine and medicine production, biotechnology and agriculture, as well as nanotechnology in medicine. “Havana has previously collaborated with the Pasteur Institute of Iran in vaccine production, and new joint efforts would pave the way for entering regional and international markets,” Hashemi noted.
