Iranian traditional medicine has been integrated into the national healthcare system, and from now on, health workers will be offering services at 10 centers across the country, announced Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi on Saturday. “Eight traditional medicine faculties have been established within universities of medical sciences over the past few years, and herbal medicine will be offered in addition to contemporary medicine at accredited medical centers,” he said at a ceremony held on the occasion in Tehran. Hashemi added that the ministry plans to set up a chain of herbal pharmacies across the 31 provinces which will function separately from the chemical pharmacies.  “The chain pharmacies will take up several years to be established, and will gradually replace herbal shops,” in the future, he said, IRNA reported.
