According to the latest study conducted in Tehran, the average noise pollution in the city is 5 dB above the standard level, said Mohammad Hossein Bazgir, head of the Tehran Department of Environment (DoE) on Tuesday. “Districts 6 (center), 12 (south), and 21 (west) are the three most polluted areas in the capital,” Alef News Agency quoted him as saying.  Noise pollution affects both health and behavior. Unwanted sound can exacerbate psychological health and cause hypertension, high stress levels, tinnitus, hearing loss, sleep disturbances, and other harmful effects.
