Infertility Treatment

Since April 2015 an infertility treatment plan called ‘Barekat-e-Khanevadeh’ (Family Blessing)

is being implemented in the underprivileged areas of the country. Accordingly, all infertile couples between the ages of 20-40 years living in such areas can benefit from the plan, including in vitro fertilization (IVF) free of charge, the Persian language newspaper ‘Iran’ reported. At present 1,350 infertile couples in disadvantaged areas have been identified and so far 665 couples have received necessary treatment. The funding for the project is provided by the Barekat Foundation, dedicated to building schools and infrastructural facilities in underdeveloped regions. It is affiliated to the Setad, a special office for executing the decrees of Imam Khomeini in helping the underprivileged.
