Six new herbal medications produced by local specialists were unveiled at Iran Darouk Pharmaceutical Company on Thursday.
“Two years of research went into producing the six drugs,” said Dr. Fariba Abolhassan Taj, the company’s technical director, at the unveiling ceremony, IRNA reports.
The new tablets, ointments, and syrups include medication for fatty liver disease, common cold, herpes, infertility and digestive disorders, male sexual dysfunction, and tranquilizers under the commercial names Epion, Libidox, Thymax Plus, Rectol and Myrtoplex.
“The drugs are named according to their original plant sources and will be launched in the market within six months at one-tenth the cost of imported brands,” she said.
