There are plans to import 800 ambulances from Germany by the end of the current year (started March 21), said Jafar Miaadfar, vice-chairman of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The number of ambulances will reach 1,800 by the end of the year and they will be allocated to all provinces in the country, Alef News Agency quoted him as saying.

Ambulances which have served for more than 7 years will be replaced with the new ones.

“We are planning to import high quality ambulances.  EMS as the authority responsible for public health is making efforts to acquire well-equipped ambulances to provide the best quality services to the people.” There are also 18 aerial emergency stations in the country. Last year, 750 people benefited from aerial services.
