Spanish hotel group Grupo Martinon has officially declared its readiness to invest in the construction of three hotels in Iran. In a letter to the Tourism Holding of Social Security Organization (known locally by its Persian acronym HEGTA), the Madrid-based group formally declared its intention to invest in three hotels being built by Homa Hotel Group, one each in Tehran, Mashhad and Isfahan, Donyaye Safer reported. This is the first official declaration by an international hotel group expressing interest in investing in Iran's budding tourism sector following the country's biggest tourism event, the International Conference on Investment in Tourism Industry, which was held on October 2-3 in Tehran. During the event, 174 projects in need of funding were introduced to investors. Founded in 2003 in Madrid, Grupo Martinon Grumasa has extensive experience in the design, planning, construction, commissioning and operation of hotel complexes in the Caribbean region.
