The principlists held a gathering in the provincial city of Semnan in central northern Iran on Sunday evening, IRNA reported.
In his address to the gathering, the chairman of the council for integrating principlists said the council is not committed to backing any particular principlist group and “only reports to the Combatant Clergy Association and Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom.”
Hojatoleslam Reza Taqavi also said the council believes that the principlist parties should pursue their own activities based on their plans, but they should adopt a unified policy on major issues.
