Tehran to Host Regional Security Confab

The second edition of a conference on regional security is to be held in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday, the secretariat of the meeting said in a statement. Over 200 politicians, analysts and experts from Iran and abroad will take part in the event entitled "Regional Security in West Asia: Emerging Challenges and Trends," Tasnim News Agency reported.  Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Defense Minister Amir Hatami will be among the keynote speakers in the gathering. The conference is expected to focus on the role of Iran and other regional and trans-regional players in the Middle East's security arrangements, the links between economic progress and regional security, collective defense and security cooperation, as well as the axis of resistance's role in ensuring security in West Asia.
