A delegation of senior trade Romanian officials has met with their Iranian counterparts in Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture to enhance mutual economic relations, the chamber reported on Monday.

The Romanian delegation accompanied by the head of Romania-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce is exploring investment opportunities in Iran.

During its 4-day visit, the Romanian delegation will hold talks with Iranian officials about improving bilateral cooperation in trade, oil, road construction and housing projects.

The Romanian businessmen were expected to meet with the head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Yahya Al-e Es’haq on Tuesday.

In a meeting held on the sidelines of the 68th UN General Assembly Session in New York on September 28, 2013, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Romanian counterpart Titus Corlatean hailed the relations between Tehran and Bucharest, and called for the further expansion of bilateral trade ties.
