The deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces has ruled out any military cooperation between Iran and the United States against Islamic State (IS) militants.
“Such cooperation is impossible because Iran is standing against the IS, but the United States has created them,” Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri told the Fars news agency on Friday.
In addition, he said IS militants are not able to approach the Iranian borders because “they will be faced with the might of the armed forces.”
