Greetings to Italian President

President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella on being elected for a second term, hoping for the development of ties between Tehran and Rome.
In a message for Mattarella on Saturday, Raisi warmly congratulated the Italian president on his reelection, reported.
Highlighting the friendly ties between Iran and Italy and pointing to the history of their political, economic and cultural relations, Raisi expressed hope that the two nations would promote bilateral, regional and international cooperation with joint efforts and on the basis of mutual respect.
He also wished the Italian leader and people health, success and prosperity.
Sergio Mattarella, 80, has been elected for a second term, with parties asking him to stay on after a week of often fraught voting in parliament to choose a successor.
Relieved party chiefs thanked Mattarella on January 29 for agreeing to remain, but the failed attempts to replace him during seven rounds of balloting have left deep scars, with potentially dangerous repercussions for political stability.
