ICOFC to Develop Eight Gas Fields

Iranian Central Oil Fields Company plans to develop eight gas fields so as to prevent a reduction in their extraction rate, ICOFC’s managing director said.

“South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company, as one of the three subsidiaries of ICOFC, will develop eight gas fields, namely Pazan, Madar, Khartang, Gardan, Dey, Sefid Zakhur, Halegan and Sefid Baghoun, in line with the Sixth Five-Year Development Plan [2017-22],” Ramin Hatami was also quoted as saying by NIOC’s official news portal on Sunday.

According to Hatami, in the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), SZOGPC completed 1,500 operations, including acidizing, well testing and injection of anti-corrosion materials, to stabilize gas production.

He added that the company has also implemented 25,000 chemical tests in its laboratories in the same period with the goal of retaining the quality of products.

Hatami stressed that to reach ICOFC’s five-year goals, it plans to drill 15 wells, install wellhead facilities and lay pipelines.

SZOGPC is in charge of nine gas fields and two oilfields in Fars, Bushehr and Hormozgan provinces. The company aims to expand activities to the provinces of Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari.

The company is making use of cutting-edge technology, including in the manufacture of pumping equipment, which will significantly help increase extraction from oil and gas fields.

ICOFC, established in 1999, is one of the major subsidiaries of the National Iranian Oil Company.
