Russia Says Committed to OPEC Deal

Russia is fulfilling all its obligations under a deal between OPEC and non-OPEC oil exporters to curtail global crude output, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday. “Without question, Russia is carrying out all the points of the agreement and all the obligations that it took upon itself,” Peskov told reporters, Reuters reported. Asked if a cut in Russian output since the start of January was connected to the global deal, he said that was a question for the Russian Energy Ministry. Ex-Soviet Azerbaijan has also begun cutting its oil output in line with a global deal among crude exporters on output cuts, Interfax news agency quoted a spokeswoman for Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry as saying on Tuesday. Production in oil-rich Kazakhstan has fallen by 20,000 barrels per day since the start of 2017 as part of a multinational deal to cut oil output to shore up global prices, the Kazakh Energy Ministry said on Tuesday. Kazakhstan agreed to cut oil output by 20,000 barrels a day.
