Iran’s second largest mobile operator MTN-Irancell has started offering WiFi-based Internet services in taxis at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport. Travelers can easily connect to the Internet via the company’s WiFi. Furthermore, they can also purchase SIM cards and modems from the taxi drivers, enabling foreign visitors to connect to the mobile network as soon as they land, ILNA reported. An unnamed MTN-Irancell official said that the company is aiming to expand the service to all airports in the country. Irancell SIM cards are offered for 600,000 rials ($16) and its portable modems for 1.3 million rials ($34). Both modems and SIMs enable customers to use Irancell’s 4G Internet services.
