The 6th International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INOTEX2017) will kick off this week in Tehran with participation of several local startups and dozens of foreign technology firms.
INOTEX is the premier regional event for professionals engaged in technology and innovation, hosted by Pardis Technology Park and co-organized by the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology (ISTI) and the Center for Innovation and Technology Cooperation (CITC).
The May 23-26 event will be held at the Tehran International Fairgrounds, Mehr News Agency reported.
Companies from more than 25 countries, including the US, Britain, Austria, Germany and Australia, are attending, according to the organizers website, www.inotex.com.
Majid Najafian, one of organizers of the event, says one of the main aims of INOTEX is to establish long-term partnerships and attract investment to develop the high-tech sector.
"INOTEX has developed over the years. In last year's event 82 tech firms from 14 countries took part. Russia, Greece and Belarus each had specialized pavilions," he said.
Najafian added that 170 firms were invited to the exhibition, 91 of which were from Iran.
One of the side events is a conference on networking and innovations, in which 14 specialists from 12 countries will exchange views, he said.
At this year's event, business-to-business meetings are set to take place, giving local firms and foreign firms alike the opportunity to tie-up.
The site says the 'matchmaking forums' charge €500 an hour.
