A forum between Iranian and Bulgarian businesses has been scheduled to be held at Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture on Monday. The Bulgarian delegation is headed by the southeastern European country’s Economy Minister Emil Lyubenov Karanikolov. Those interested in participating in the forum, scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. local time, can register on ICCIMA’s website. Bulgaria took over its first presidency of the European Council from January 2018 until June 2018; the country is under the monitoring of Brussels. Iran traded $70.93 million worth of non-oil goods with Bulgaria during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2018), which was 0.85% less compared to the year before, making the European country Iran’s 56th biggest trading partner. As per the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s data, Iran exported 48,691 tons of commodities worth $47.21 million to Bulgaria last year, posting an 89.85% and 14.12% decline in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. The exports mainly included polystyrene, polyethylene compounds and polyethylene terephthalate. Bulgaria exported 36,073 tons of goods worth $23.71 million to Iran during the period under review, up 482.48% and 43.19% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. Iran mainly imported phosphate, fruits and tobacco from Bulgaria last year.
