Iran Airports Company registered 37,598 takeoffs and landings in the Iranian month ending Oct. 22, which shows a 9% rise compared with last year’s corresponding period.

About 4.07 million passengers and 47,000 tons of cargo were transported during the period, indicating a 6% and 8% year-on-year growth respectively, IAC reported on its website.

As for domestic flights, 30,423 takeoffs and landings were registered, up 10% YOY.

More than 3.624 million passengers and 27,000 tons of goods were transported domestically, indicating a 6% and 8% rise respectively over the last year’s same period.

On the international front, about 7,175 takeoffs and landings were registered, increasing 8% YOY.

A total of 1.067 million passengers and 19,649 tons of cargo were transported to and from overseas destinations, both posting a 9% increase YOY.

Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was the busiest domestic airport during the period, followed by Mashhad International Airport and Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport.

Iran Airports Company is an arm of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, which manages 54 airports across the country.
