Foundation to Implement Projects in Iraq

The involvement of companies affiliated to Islamic Revolution Mostazafan Foundation in Iraq’s development projects will pave the way for the entry of Iranian private sector into the neighboring country. This was announced by the head of the foundation, Mohammad Saeedikia, following his meeting with Iraqi Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities Ann Nafi Aussi on Wednesday. The two sides agreed to cooperate in development projects, including road construction, urban development and housing in the cities of Karbala and Najaf, IRNA reported. Saeedikia also met with Iraqi Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and held talks on project partnership in the fields of construction and food as well as renovation of Iraq’s manufacturing units and worn-out factories. Mostazafan Foundation, established in 1979 to serve the oppressed and war veterans, has now become one of the largest conglomerates in Iran. “It accounts for 1.5% of Iran’s gross domestic product,” Saeedikia said.
