Isfahan Hosts CARPEX 2016

Isfahan Province is hosting the 19th Exhibition of Persian Handmade Carpets, otherwise known as CARPEX 2016.
Representatives of more than 150 producers and experts in the field from Tehran, Isfahan, Fars, East Azarbaijan, Ardebil, Qom, Kerman, Yazd, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Kurdestan and Golestan provinces are participating in the six-day expo that opened on December 4, IRNA reported.
“Iran exported $166 million worth of hand-woven carpets during the seven months to October 21, registering a 17% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year,” the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran said on Sunday at the expo.
“The US, Germany, the UAE, Pakistan and Lebanon are the main export destinations for Iranian carpets,” Mojtaba Khosrotaj was also quoted as saying.
