Close to $118 million worth of non-oil products were exported from Golestan Province in northern Iran during the seven months to October 21, 2016, according to the head of the province’s Industries, Mining and Trade Organization.

“Between 85% and 90% of the provincial exports head for Iraq and Turkmenistan,” Hosseinqoli Qavanlou was quoted as saying by IRNA.

Last year, Golestan’s exports amounted to $320 million, with Iraq being the destination of 56% of these products.

The province’s main exported commodities include dairy products, frozen chicken, tomato paste, poultry feed, rebar, cement, ornamental flowers and plants.
