The number of flights landing at and taking off from domestic airports during the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 20) surged 19% compared with last year’s corresponding period, Iran Airports Company announced. The report did not specify the number of the flights though. Mehrabad International Airport, located in western Tehran and mostly used for domestic flights, was the busiest airport in terms of aircraft movement with a total of 69,376 takeoffs and landings, Mehr News Agency reported. Mashhad International Airport and Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport followed, with 38,879 and 28,102 takeoffs and landings respectively.
