Some 1.4 million tons of non-oil goods worth $551.7 million were exported to Japan during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20). The export value for last year’s corresponding period stood at $19.1 million. Gas condensates, carpet, pistachios, saffron, vegetable seeds and figs were among the main exported commodities, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. Iran imported more than 27,100 tons of goods worth $182 million from the East Asian country during the six-month period, registering a 37% rise in value year-on-year. The imports mainly included industrial machinery, auto parts, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.
