Plans are underway to build a new passenger terminal in Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport, deputy head of planning and supervision in Iranian Airports Holding Company Gholamhossein Baqerian announced as reported by IRNA. The new terminal, which is to be constructed on a 50,000-square meter area, is expected to add 10-12 million passengers to the annual capacity of the airport, the official added. He predicted that the project’s design and planning will be completed by March 2016 from which point the construction phase will begin.
