Employment, ways of encouraging private sector's investment, resolving problems associated with the implementation of Article 44 of the Iranian Constitution, banking issues and the state of Iran's economy following the United States’ violation of the nuclear deal–officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action–Iran signed with world powers in July 2015 were the main topics discussed by President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, as well as a host of economic experts.
The Supreme Council of Economic Coordination was formed on the order of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to address public concerns over the reimposition of sanctions after US President Donald Trump pulled out of JCPOA in May.
