Close to 3.25 million tons of commodities were transit by road through Bandar Abbas in the southern Hormozgan Province during the last Iranian year (March 2017-18).
According to Director General of Hormozgan Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization Daryoush Baqer-Javan, Shahid Rajaee Port accounted for 36% of the incoming transit goods and was ranked the most active border crossing among the country’s 32 borders over the period.
“The main transit goods were fuel, chemicals, construction materials, home appliances and cotton,” the official was quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Baqer-Javan noted that Shahid Rajaee Port was followed by border crossings of Parviz Khan in Kermanshah, Bazargan in West Azarbaijan and Bashmaq in Kurdestan.
