Tejarat Bank’s Norway Presence Denied

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tehran has denied a recent report suggesting that Iran’s Tejarat Bank is to open a branch in the Nordic country.

The report was originally published on the news portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, based on which Financial Tribune on June 21 ran a story in which a Norwegian Embassy official said Tejarat Bank will soon open a branch in that country.

In a written statement, the Norwegian embassy denied the report, saying it was “completely false” and had “no root in reality”.

The statement clarified that no Iranian banks are opening branches in Norway.
