Ayandeh Bank Gets CBI Permit

Ayandeh Bank, the only commercial bank whose name was absent in the Central Bank of Iran’s list of authorized banks and financial institutions, eventually received an official working permit from the regulator, CBI’s public relations office announced.
In October, the CBI released a list of officially authorized banks and credit institutions, excluding nine financial institutions and Ayandeh Bank.
The decision on the bank was made during the most recent meeting of the Money and Credit Council, CBI Governor Valiollah Seif said on Wednesday, adding the further details will be released on the issue later.
“The bank receives the permit on condition that it will effectively resolve its problems and carry out the responsibilities it has been given by the MCC,” he said.
He said the bank’s board of directors and shareholders has now been given certain duties that “if carried out would help it resolve several of the issues it’s been struggling with.”
After Tat Bank was closed down in 2013, the bank was merged with two other credit institutions – Ati and Salehin – and continued to operate as Ayandeh Bank.
In February 2013, Ayandeh offered 25 percent of its shares (two billion shares) in the Iranian over-the-counter or Iran Farabourse.
The CBI governor also said that it has been decided that Mizan Credit Institution will by no means be merged with Ayandeh Bank.
