A face-lifted version of the Chinese crossover JAC S5 was spotted on the streets in Tehran by car enthusiasts late last week. The vehicle had a temporary number plate issued to cars deemed ready for test drive in urban areas, local automotive website Khodro Bank reported. A local carmaker, Kerman Motor will manufacture the model. The company already assembles JAC S3, J5, and an older version of S5. The previous version of the S5 crossover, falling in the range of 900 million to 1 billion rials ($22,500-$25,000), has been popular with Iran motorists. The company is yet to announce a price for the latest version. JAC S5 is equipped with a 1.6-liter, 111 hp engine, CVT gearbox and electronic power steering system.
