Modiran Vehicle Manufacturing Company (MVM) unveiled a new updated version of MVM X33 called X33s, which is a local variant of China's Chery Tiggo 3 released in 2015.
MVM 33Xs is equipped with Chamonix 7-speed CVT auto transmission which, according to the company's experts, offers smooth operation and outstanding fuel efficiency.
The CVT is claimed to be able to meet the driving requirements on different roads, including its 7-speed manual mode and "snow mode".
This model's front wheel ventilation disc brake and rear wheel solid disc brake system seems to provide even brake force distribution, faster heat dissipation, smaller weight and stable braking effect, Donyaye Khodro reported.
The manufacturer claims that the new measures have made this model a more family friendly vehicle and safer in crash tests.
Another supposed feature, which some might find amusing, is the noise reduction technology, which the brochure says is improving body tightness and sound insulation material, optimizing engine suspension and emission system, reduces noise, vibration and harshness by 3-4 dB and improves sound intelligibility by 4%.
In addition to the new X33 model, MVM Chery has also announced another new car for the market, a small sedan called Arrizo 5.
According to the Iranian auto site, the vehicle will begin with a listed price of 770 million rials ($22,000), which is approximately $9,400 more expensive in real terms than it costs in China.
The only downside to this car would seem to be the cost in the Iranian market pegging it at the upper end of most Iranians' budgets.
Although the price listed is for pre-order only, the car has been sighted not far from Financial Tribune's office in central Tehran.
Styling of the Arrizo 5 looks to have been directly inspired by Hyundai's Accent model, which is also available in the Iranian market
Initially, the only engine available will be a 1.5 with 116 hp and 148 nm, mated to a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. Later, a 1.2 turbo and a 1.5 turbo will join the lineup. The former will get 132 hp and 212 nm, the latter 145 hp and 220 nm.
