Semnan Province Exports Increase by 40% in Q1

Exports from Semnan Province stood at 60,889 tons worth $27.09 million during the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), registering a 29% and 40% year-on-year rise in terms of weight and value respectively, according to Morteza Hajianzadeh, a local official.
The exports included sodium hydroxide, wire and cable, light hydrocarbon, unrefined lead, refined edible oil, swamp cooler, plastic containers, cleansers, aluminum sheet, sulfuric acid, milk powder, resin, hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride, ceramic and tiles, barite powder and liquid paraffin, IRNA reported.
Afghanistan, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kuwait, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Japan were the main destinations.
A total of 8,135 tons of goods worth 30.85 million were imported into Semnan’s customs terminals during the same period, registering a 112% and 784% growth in weight and value respectively.
The imports came from 22 countries, mainly Turkey, China, Germany, the Czech Republic, the UAE and Japan, and included auto parts, production machinery, parts and components of transformers, ink, metal strip, electric shutter blade, module and silicon sheets.
