A total of 158,183 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Gilan Province’s Anzali Port during the current Iranian year’s first month(March 21-April 20), registering a 52% rise in throughput compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to Mojtaba Nazari, a local official affiliated with the Ports and Maritime Organization.
He noted that 52 ships docked at the port during the period to register a 53% year-on-year rise, the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.
Exports from the port stood at 24,355 tons, registering a 5% YOY rise, he added.
A total of 6,156 tons of goods were transited from Anzali Port to the neighboring countries during the period, indicating a 186% rise.
Container throughput stood at 783 TEUs during the period, registering a 134% rise.
Anzali is the oldest Iranian port along the Caspian Sea.
