A total of 753,089 tons of goods worth $323 million were exported from Iran’s Parvizkhan border to Iraq in the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), according to Qasem Matlabi, a local customs official.
Vegetable, dairy products, cakes and cookies, metal products, plastic products, stones, tiles and construction materials were the main goods exported during the period, IRNA reported.
The official noted that the export volume stood at 1 million tons worth $393.05 million in the corresponding period of last year.
Parvizkhan border crossing is located in Qasr-e Shirin County that has 186 kilometers of borders with Iraq. The border have two checkpoints, Parvizkhan and Khosravi, through which the largest portion of the western province’s exports are shipped to Central Iraq and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
