28% Rise in Shahid Rajaee Port Container Loading

Container loading for export from the southern Shahid Rajaee Port stood at 189,129 TEUs during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Aug. 22), registering a 28% growth compared with the similar period of last year, according to the director general of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization.
“With a capacity of loading and unloading 6.5 TEUs of containers per year, Shahid Rajaee, located 23 kilometers west of the port city of Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan Province, is considered Iran’s biggest container port and a major hub in the region,” Alireza Mohammadi Karajiran was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Over half of Iran’s commercial trading is carried out at Shahid Rajaee.
