South Khorasan’s Exports Top $110m in 2 Months

A total of 371,943 tons of goods worth $114 million were exported from South Khorasan Province’s customs terminals during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-May 21), registering a 22% and 30% growth in weight and value respectively, according to Hassan Rahimizadeh, a local official.
Vegetables, cement, ceramic tiles, diesel, rebar, bitumen and dates were the main exports that mainly headed to Afghanistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Pakistan, IRNA reported.
A total of 476 trucks weighing 13,482 tons, carrying industrial oil, sugar, nuts, frozen chicken and flour transited from Iraq, India, Indonesia, Turkey and Russia to Afghanistan through the Mahiroud border crossing of South Khorasan Province during the same period, registering a 6% decline in the number of trucks and a 1% growth in tonnage year-on-year.
