A total of 12,000 tons of paper pulp worth $10.2 million were imported to Iran in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21-April 20), indicating an increase of 55% and 89% in weight and value, respectively, compared with last year’s corresponding period. 
According to a report by ISNA, citing figures by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, publication paper imports during the one-month period also increased by 74% in weight and 54% in value year-on-year to stand at 15,600 tons worth $12.5 million. 
Imports of newsprint paper stood at 118.9 tons worth $67,200 during the month, while import during the same month of last year reached 235.1 tons worth $108,100.
