Kermanshah Border Crossings Increase Working Hours

Kermanshah Province’s border crossings have increased working hours to 20 hours per day amid rising exports.
According to Behzad Babakhani, an official with Kermanshah Governorate, local border crossings previously operated for 17 hours per day. 
The border crossings of Parvizkhan, Sheikh Saleh and Shooshemi are currently open for exports to Iraq, out of the six official border crossings in the province, IRNA reported.
"The increasing number of trucks at the crossings has prompted the decision to increase working hours," he said.
According to Kermanshah Customs Director General Khalil Heydari, 5.67 million tons of goods worth $2.2 billion were exported from Kermanshah’s border crossings in the last Iranian year. 
Around half of Iran’s total non-oil exports to Iraq is shipped from Kermanshah Province. 
More than 284,410 tons of goods worth $112.86 million were exported from Kermanshah Province’s customs terminals during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 20-April 19).
According to Heydari, major commodities exported from the province included tomato paste, watermelon, cheese, Persian melon, apples, milk, cream, biscuits, cucumber, evaporative coolers and eggplants.
According to the official, 198 types of goods were exported to eight countries during the period, IRNA reported.
Most of the commodities were exported to neighboring Iraq and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
