Tehran Province exported 546,000 tons of goods worth $587 million during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22, 2019), the deputy head of Tehran Industries, Mining and Trade Organization for commercial affairs and trade promotion said.
Mojtaba Shirqazi added that exports registered a 9.2% rise in tonnage, which nearly halved in value compared with last year’s corresponding period, IRNA reported.
The official noted that exports from Tehran Province had a respective share of 0.78% and 2.8% in Iran’s total exports in terms of tonnage and value.
More than 62% of the exports had Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Germany as their destinations.
Major commodities exported from the province during the period included metals, plastic materials, chemicals, textile products and plants.
