Tehran stocks opened trading week on Saturday under selloff pressure and the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, retreated further away from the 1.6 million points reached last week.
Toiling to break past the strong resistance level, the TSE's main index shed 15,286.26 points or 0.96% to end trading at 1,579,691.
The TSE’s equal-weighted index dipped 0.55%, reflecting the performance of small caps and penny stocks.
Retail trade jumped 4% compared on the session before to reach 59.93 trillion rials ($200 million). Retail traders were mostly sellers bringing net capital outflow to 4.47 trillion rials ($15 million), the highest in the calendar month.
About 9.25 billion shares valued at 64.45 trillion rials ($230 m) changed hands at TSE for the day.
