The registration for government-sponsored housing development project, the so-called "National Housing Initiative", has been postponed to Nov. 9 because of the public holiday on Nov. 6.
The registration procedure will be conducted in 10 provinces, including Qom, Hamedan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Ardabil and Zanjan, Fars News Agency reported.
The initiative is aimed at supplying a total of 400,000 affordable homes to the market, the construction of 180,000 of which has already begun.
Having been piloted in Kerman Province to find out if registration worked well, the initial phase of the registration process will start in the above-mentioned provinces and later continue in other Iranian provinces.
Being married, having no record of using state financial facilities for purchasing a house and having lived in the city where applications for the housing program are being submitted are eligibility requirements.
