Local automotive company Mammut Khodro started presales of two imported VW models Tiguan and Passat on Monday in Tehran.

It charges 2 billion rials ($46,500) as down payment for the vehicles, local automotive website Persian Khodro reported.

The final price of the two models has not been announced. However, Mammut says the final price will be announced at the weekend. According to the company’s sales office, the cars will be delivered after four weeks.

Passat is a midsize family sedan with a turbocharged 1.8-liter, 180-hp engine attached to a 7-speed DSG transmission. DSG, direct-shift gearbox, is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox in a transaxle design. The car sells for $28,815 in Germany.

Tiguan is Volkswagen’s smallest SUV. A 184-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine propels the car’s drivetrain and mates with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive. Its price starts from $26,000 in the international market.
