Iran’s automotive production increased by 1.1% during the current Iranian year’s first seven months (March 21-Oct. 22) compared with the year-ago period.
According to data released by Securities and Exchange Organization on Codal.ir, Iran Khodro (IKCO), SAIPA and Pars Khodro, Iran’s major automakers produced 501,635 sedans during the period, of which IKCO had the lion’s share of 242,276 vehicles, down 2.8% year-on-year.
IKCO also manufactures commercial vehicles, such as pickups, vans, trucks and buses. However, no statistics have been released in this category.
SAIPA, IKCO’s competitor, produced 192,628 vehicles in the seven months, marking a 2.1% increase compared to the year-ago month.
