Violinist Amin Ghafari will join Suk Chamber Orchestra in the Czech Republic as a soloist.

Suk Chamber Orchestra, one of the leading Czech music ensembles will hold a concert on August 8 at the 27th International Music Festival of Český Krumlov in the south of the republic.

Ghafari, a prolific Iranian violinist, manager of Pasargad Orchestra (founded in 2013), will play the violin at the event, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.

The orchestra will play classical and baroque pieces including “From Holberg’s Time” aka “Holberg Suite, Op. 40” composed by Norwegian composer and pianist Edvard Grieg (1843-1907); “Concerto for Violin in E major” by German baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750); “Romanian Folk Dances” by Hungarian composer, pianist and ethnomusicologist Bela Bartok (1881-1945); and “Serenade in E major, Op. 22” by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904).

Conductor of the orchestra is Czech musician Nikol Kraft. The event will be held at Masquerade Hall, a masterpiece of Rococo period at Český Krumlov Castle.

Ghafari is a member of Iran’s National Orchestra and Tehran Symphony Orchestra, and is cognizant “of the value of participating in international events and festivals.” One of the prominent violinists in Iran, he also is proficient in playing the santur.

He held concerts at the Allegro Vivo Academy in Austria in 2016 and Kronberg in Germany in 2017 where he also attended workshops with Professor Bijan Khadem Misagh, Prof. Boris Kushnir and his mentor, Prof. Igor Petrusevski, who has the main influence on his performance.

In 2017, he published a book “The Best Ways to Practice Khachaturian Concerto.”  Ghafari’s next performance after the Czech event will be with the Baku Philharmonic Orchestra, an ensemble from the Republic of Azerbaijan. The concert will take place on August 14 at Vahdat Hall in Tehran.
