Classical vocalist Homayoun Shajarian, and composer Sohrab Pournazeri are to perform the second series of their multimedia concert at Sa’dabad Complex in early July.
The concert “Si” (the number 30 in Persian) is based on the story of legendry prince Siavash from the epic poem of Shahnameh (Book of Kings) written by celebrated Persian poet Ferdowsi (940-1020), IRNA reported on its Persian website.
Tale of Siavash involves several events including resisting the seduction of queen Sudabeh, riding through the blaze of fire, self imposed exile, falling in love with a Turanian princess and ultimately his tragic death. In Persian literature and folklore culture, Siavash is considered as a symbol of purity and innocence.
