Zhiwaar Travel Agency has organized a one-day tour to see the past and present of Oudlajan, one of the historic neighborhoods in downtown Tehran.

The tour starts at 9 pm on January 5 near Dr. Sapir Hospital and Charity Center. The hospital opened in 1942 and is named after one of its first physicians Ruhollah Sapir who dedicated his life to the campaign against the spread of typhus and died of the disease himself.

Visitors will be guided through the old streets and alleyways of Oudlajan and briefed on some of the main attractions. The bathhouse of Keshvarieh is one of the sites they will visit .

Lunch will be the traditional stew known as ‘dizi’. The serving restaurant Timcheh Akbarian was once a bank said to have been established 260 years ago.

The program ends at 3 pm. Details at Zhiwaar.com.
