Book House Institute will commemorate the veteran Iranian historian and author Mansoureh Ettehadieh in a ceremony on October 23.

The event will be held at 4:30 pm, at the venue of Book House in central Tehran in the presence of literati and cultural figures, the institute wrote on its website.  

Ettehadieh, 84, received her master’s degree and PhD from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She taught history at Tehran University until her retirement in 2001. She has authored nine books, translated four and served as editor and co-editor of eighteen titles.

In 1982, she founded Nashr-e Tarikh-e Iran, a private research institution in Tehran dedicated to the publication of history books, and expanded her scientific research on history.

Book House Institute supports library research and book releases on prominent figures and their works in philosophy, religion, psychology, sociology, art, literature and other disciplines.

The institute is located at No. 1080, between South Mozaffar Brothers and South Felestin streets, Enqelab Avenue.
