‘Salaam Mumbai’ a joint production of Iran cinema and Bollywood, has been purchased and dubbed by Pen N International Company, an Indian film production and distribution company, and will go on screen in that country on October 13.
Directed by Iranian filmmaker Qorban Mohammadpur, the film is a story of two medical students from two different backgrounds (Iran and India), and explores their tumultuous romantic relationship. It also touches on the culture and lifestyles in the two countries, Mehr News Agency reported.
Featuring Mohammad Reza Golzar and Dia Mirza in the leading roles along with Poonam Dhillon, Dalip Tahil, Gulshan Grover, and Behrooz Chahe, the melodrama sold over 146 billion rials (about $3.9 million) during its 100-day screening in Iran.
