Qur’an Contest for Visually-Impaired

A total of 16 visually-impaired Qur’an reciters (Qaris) have taken part in a competition to qualify for the first international Qur’an competition for the visually-impaired.
Top participants will be selected to represent Iran in the Qur’anic event, which will be held on the sidelines of the 33rd International Holy Qur’an Competition in Iran later this year, IQNA reported.
More than 30 countries are expected to send their representatives to the competition.
The first edition will only feature the category of Qur’an memorization but more categories, such as recitation and interpretation, could be included in the future editions.
